countries: Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana, between the ninth and eleventh degree of north latitude
and the third and fourth degree of longitude west.
The population, estimated at around 450,000 inhabitants, mostly living in the territory of Burkina Faso
, in the south-west of the country: Gaoua, Kampti, Nako, and Batie Lorhopéni South
and in the southern province of Bourgourila. (1). The history and mythical tales of Lobi
make them appear as eternal nomads. Originally from the shores of the Black Volta, in the north-west of Ghana,
Lobi migrated in successive waves in their present territory of Burkina Faso, from
end of the eighteenth century.
